KIDS CAN PARTICIPATE TOO!
Get the kids in your family involved in The Longest Day by helping them set up a lemonade stand. Provide them with a table, pitchers of lemonade, cups and napkins. Let them get creative by encouraging them to make their own signs to attract passersby to their stand. They can either set the price for a cup of lemonade or simply ask for donations. Maybe they can make up small bags of popcorn to sell along with the lemonade. They can set a price for just a cup of lemonade or for a combination of the drink with popcorn.
The kids can even encourage their neighborhood friends to set up their own lemonade stands and create a friendly competition among themselves. Whoever wins the competition by raising the most money might win a movie ticket, maybe gets to pick out their favorite ice cream at the store, or gets out of doing their least favorite household chore for a week. Parents, you may want to help with this part.
